COD removal agents are divided into two categories
1、 Cod oxidant
At room temperature, it is an oxidant that can oxidize and decompose organic matter, and it can really reduce COD in sewage, such as sodium hypochlorite, hydrogen peroxide, ozone, sodium persulfate, potassium permanganate, etc.
Note: oxidants should not be stored together with reducing substances and should be kept away from easily combustible substances. As oxidant will remain in water, attention should be paid to the impact on subsequent process and environmental water.
2、 Cod coagulant
It mainly includes inorganic coagulant and organic coagulant
Inorganic coagulant: PAC polyaluminum chloride, polyferric chloride, ferric chloride, aluminum sulfate, ferrous sulfate and other inorganic salts.
Organic coagulants: polyamine, dicyandiamide flocculant, cationic quaternary ammonium salt, etc
The coagulant has no danger of combustion and explosion, and will not cause secondary pollution to the water body, so the sewage treatment unit can use it safely.
Selection of COD removal agent
When the majority of COD in wastewater is water-soluble small molecule organic matter, the oxidizing COD removal agent should be selected; when the majority of COD in wastewater is polymer organic matter, the COD coagulant should be selected.
